Crémant d’Alsace Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée was created in 1976 to distinguish the wines obtained by the sparkling champagne method. The term “crémant” comes from Champagne where it was fallen in disuse. It was the recognition of the efforts made by several Alsatian winemakers, including the Maison Lucien Albrecht.
TASTING NOTES This Crémant presents a yellow pale disk with nice brilliance, fine and delicate bubbles with a regular mousse persistence. The nose reveals lots of floral & expressive aromas of fresh fruits (apple, peaches & apricots). On the palate, it develops a fruity lively feel, nice maturity and flavours of ripe fruit.
WINE PAIRING This Crémant is a classic for every occasion.
This sparkling wine—one of the flagship Crémants d’Alsace—is made exclusively from Pinot Noir grown on terroirs favourable to the sole Alsatian red grape variety.
TASTING NOTES This Crémant Rosé, made of 100% Pinot Noir, brings roundnessand body in one. Hints of nice pink reflections and salmon nuances supported by regular elegant effervescence. Delicate red fruit character on the palate makes this wine so complete.
FOOD PAIRING This sparkling wine is an invitation to festive occasions.
Elaborated on plot selection, the Crémant d’Alsace 1698 is harvested nearby villages, where the soils are very complex and deep, with a high percentage of clay and sandstone screes, benefiting from South or Southeast exposure.
TASTING NOTES It has a brilliant gold color. The refined nose develops fresh aromasof white peach and bergamot subtly enhanced by toasted notes. It distinguished itself step by step during tasting: fresh and creamy mouth, roundness delicately intensified by vanilla hints and well balanced by slightly acidulous freshness.
FOOD PAIRING It accompanies perfectly great moments (junket, aperitif), and will also magnify shellfish, seafood platters as well as fine fruit desserts.
Lucien Albrecht is proud to celebrate this year an anniversary dear to its heart: 45 years of the Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée Crémant d’Alsace. As a pioneer in the Crémant d’Alsace, which it began producing in 1971, and thanks to its perseverance and successful trials and tests, it is one of three Alsatian firms to have launched the Crémant d’Alsace.
On August 24, 1976 the AOC was made official. In 2016, our celebration of those 45 years centers on our range of Crémant d’Alsace Lucien Albrecht.
Since the first tests on sparkling wine in 1971, the Crémants d’Alsace Lucien Albrecht have been considered pioneers in the appellation. From mainly chalky terroirs, using varieties adapted to the special soil, the grapes on these vines are ideal for making the Crémants d’Alsace. Our range should be party to all celebrations.
